Arcadia Competition Terms and Conditions

HOW TO ENTER

To be eligible to enter, individuals who receive the promotional competition entry form for the “Arcadia Competition” must during the promotional period either:

  • complete the official entry form, and send to Locked Bag 5777 Botany NSW 1455; or
  • visit www.worldvoyages.com.au/competition, follow the prompts to the competition entry page, input the requested details and submit the fully completed online entry form.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these Terms and Conditions. Participation in this promotion is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
  2. Entry is only open to Australian residents aged 18 years or over (excluding P&O past passengers) who receive the promotional competition entry form. Employees (and their immediate families) of the Promoter and agencies associated with this promotion are ineligible to enter.
  3. The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and entrants (including an entrant’s identity, age and place of residence) and to disqualify any entrant who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions or who tampers with the entry process. Errors and omissions will be accepted at the Promoter's discretion. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
  4. Incomplete, indecipherable or illegible entries will be deemed invalid.
  5. Only one (1) entry permitted per person.
  6. Promotion commences on 11/02/09. Entries close at 11:59pm AEST on 30/11/09. The draw will take place at Carnival PLC, 203 Pacific Highway St Leonards NSW 2065 on 04/12/09 at 10am AEST. Winner will be notified by phone and mail and their name will be published in The Australian on 11/12/09. The Promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  7. The first valid entry drawn will win the Prize of a P&O World Voyages holiday for two (2) adults departing from Sydney on 24/02/10, valued at up to AUD$5,500. Prize includes two (2) nights on board Arcadia in an outside stateroom (category KA) and all main meals (with the exception of those restaurants which have a cover charge). If the winner is a NSW resident the winner will be responsible for all travel costs associated with travel to the departure point in Sydney, NSW. If the winner is a resident of any State/Territory other than NSW the winner will receive return economy class airfares for two (2) adults from their nearest capital city to Sydney, NSW and transfers from the airport to the departure point in Sydney, NSW. Cruise will disembark in Brisbane, QLD. If the winner is a QLD resident the winner will be responsible for all travel costs associated with travel from the disembark point in Brisbane, QLD. If the winner is a resident of any State/Territory other than QLD the winner will receive return economy class airfares for two (2) adults from Brisbane, QLD to their nearest capital city and transfers to the airport. Spending money, additional meals, taxes, insurance, passports, transfers, items of a personal nature, in-room charges and all other ancillary costs are not included. Frequent flyer points will not form part of the prize. Travel insurance is highly recommended by the Promoter to protect against the additional costs incurred in the event of unforeseen circumstances. Winner will be responsible for their own travel insurance.
  8. Standard terms and conditions of travelling on P&O cruises will apply. Winner’s travel will be subject to the booking and passage conditions of the relevant brochure which must be signed by the winner and their companion(s).
  9. Government taxes (valued at up to $47 per person) are an additional cost to the winner and their travelling companions and are required prior to ticketing.
  10. A credit card imprint or cash deposit will be required from the winner at check-in in order to board Arcadia, for all incidental charges. Once accommodation vouchers are issued, they are non-changeable.
  11. It is the traveller’s personal responsibility to ensure that they have valid documentation, including but not limited to valid passports and visas, which meet the requirements of immigration and other government authorities at every destination. Any fines, penalties, payments or expenditures incurred as a result of such documents not meeting the requirements of those authorities will be the sole responsibility of the traveller(s).
  12. The Promoter makes no representation as to the safety, conditions or other issues that may exist at any destination. International travel advice can be obtained from various sources, including government, local consular offices and the web site of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
  13. If the Prize (or part of the Prize) is unavailable, the Promoter, in its discretion, reserves the right to substitute the Prize (or that part of the Prize) with a prize to the equal value and/or specification, subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority.
  14. Total prize pool value is up to $5,500. The Prize, or any unused portion of the Prize, is not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash.15. If the prize remains unclaimed by 18/01/10 an unclaimed prize draw will take place. The first valid entry drawn and successfully contacted by phone and in writing will win the prize within 24 hours. If the unclaimed prize draw winner cannot be contacted within 24 hours, this condition will apply to subsequent draws until a prize winner is determined. The winner (if any) will be published in The Australian on 22/01/10.
  15. If the prize remains unclaimed by 18/01/10 an unclaimed prize draw will take place. The first valid entry drawn and successfully contacted by phone and in writing will win the prize within 24 hours. If the unclaimed prize draw winner cannot be contacted within 24 hours, this condition will apply to subsequent draws until a prize winner is determined. The winner (if any) will be published in The Australian on 22/01/10.
  16. If this promotion is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law (a) to disqualify any entrant; or (b) to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the promotion, as appropriate.
  17. Any cost associated with accessing the promotional website is the entrant’s responsibility and is dependent on the Internet service provider used.
  18. Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, the Promoter (including its officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the Promotion, including, but not limited to, where arising out of the following: (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control); (b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; (c) any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter; (d) any variation in prize value to that stated in these Terms and Conditions; (e) if the P&O cruise is cancelled for any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter; (f) any tax liability incurred by a winner or entrant; or (g) use of the Prize.
  19. As a condition of accepting a Prize, the winner (and any companion/s) must sign any legal documentation as and in the form required by the Promoter and/or prize suppliers in their absolute discretion, including but not limited to a legal release and indemnity form.
  20. The Promoter collects personal information in order to conduct the Promotion and may, for this purpose, disclose such information to third parties, including but not limited to agents, contractors, service providers, prize suppliers and, as required, to Australian regulatory authorities. Entry is conditional on providing this information. The Promoter may, for an indefinite period, unless otherwise advised, use the information for promotional, marketing, publicity, research and profiling purposes, including sending electronic messages or telephoning the entrant. Entrants should direct any request to access, update or correct information to the Promoter. All entries become the property of the Promoter.

Thursday 12 February

From 7am – Arcadia will make her way into Fremantle Harbour. She will dock at the Fremantle Passenger Terminal at 8am before departing at 6pm.

Monday 16 February

6.00am – Oriana will make her way into Sydney Harbour. She will dock at the Overseas Passenger Terminal in Circular Quay at 7am before departing at midnight.

From 7am – Arcadia will sail towards Outer Harbour, docking at 8am. She will remain in Adelaide until 6pm.

Wednesday 18 February

From 4.30am – Arcadia arrives into Port Phillip before docking at Station Pier at 8am before departing at 6pm.

From 7am – Oriana sails into Brisbane River, docking at Portside Wharf at 8am where she remains for the day. Oriana will depart Brisbane at 6pm.

Friday 20 February

6.00pm – Arcadia will arrive in Sydney Harbour, docking at the Overseas Passenger Terminal at 7.00pm. Arcadia will remain in Sydney over night, departing on Saturday 21 February at midnight. Please note: there will be no fireworks display as part of the visit.

Monday 23 February

From 7.30am – Arcadia sails into Brisbane River to dock at the Fisherman Island Wharf. Arcadia will remain in Brisbane for the day, departing at 6am.

Friday 27 February

From 7am – Aurora makes her way into the Brisbane River, docking at 8am. She will then depart Brisbane at 6pm.

Sunday 1 March

From 6.30am – Aurora will make her way into Sydney Harbour, anchoring at Point Piper Buoy at 7.00am then berth at the Overseas Passenger Terminal at 9.00pm. She will remain in Sydney overnight, departing on Monday 2 March at 6pm.
